Wednesday 27th March – Bike **** Circuit of Felixstowe – cloudy.

We hadn’t got any plans past cleaning my bike in readiness for fitting my new Hydraulic disc brakes coming from Amazon so were pleased to get a phone call from our friends the Hurrells saying they were coming to Felixstowe and were up for a bike ride:) We met up at their caravan at Peewit at 12.30 where Neil showed me the new Manta windsurfing board they had just picked up at Mersea:) Then it was off to the prom stopping off at the sandwich shop for Neil and Linda to buy their lunch. Turning right along the seafront to the Fludgers, inland a bit then on to The Dip where we stopped to look at the small new car park being built for us windsurfers. The four of us continued to the seat by Felixstowe ferry jetty where we stopped for lunch. We had had a late breakfast so hadn’t taken anything but were hungry so Mag went and bought yummy sausage and chips, very warming on a chilly, cloudy day! We hadn’t seen each other for well over a month so we had a good catch up as before returning to the end of the prom near The Manor. Although the weather was overcast and chilly there were still people enjoying the sea and we saw canoes and stand up paddle boards! We returned to Langer road before separating and heading for home. A nice bike ride out for 3 hours covering 12 miles. No wind forecast so I can definitely sort my bike out this week.
